What is an Audioguide and why should I use one?
Audioguides are used to listen to audio tours. They are specially designed to be easy to use for adults and children. They are hardwearing for indoor and outdoor use.
There are many audio guides available but we choose to use the Orpheo because:
- it is easy to use
- it has a graphics screen, perfect for maps to keep you on the correct path or sign language pictures for those hard of hearing
- it is shock proof and waterproof
- the backlit buttons and screen mean that it is easy to see, even in the dark
- it has 'layer' buttons, so you can choose to find out more about a particular topic whilst you are out on the tour.
Audio guides are available at a number of Heritage sites, please see here for a full list of our sites.
